Taking Chances: 3 Things That Are Holding You Back From Being Great

You take a look back at all of the things that you have accomplished in life and come to the realization that are still not where you want to be. If this is you, don’t worry because you are not alone, a lot of us feel this way. We all strive to achieve that American dream, but what we fail to realize is that in order to get there you have to take a chance and roll the “Dice of Life”. This dice comes with a variety of outcomes and an infinite amount of possibilities. Though you may feel discouraged from a less than desirable result, pick yourself up and try again. You have to keep on rolling until you get what you are looking for.

At the moment you might feel unfulfilled, but you KNOW you have the drive and determination to get to where you want to be. What’s REALLY holding you back though? Today we are going to take a look at 3 potential things that could be keeping you from achieving your goals. Life is all about taking chances, so why not take a chance regardless of what the outcome may be and work to be the best!

You’re Scared

You have a fear of the unknown and are terrified to see what the outcome will be. This is the wrong mindset to have when it comes to taking chances in life. Being fearful of everything will get you absolutely nowhere and you’ll have no one to blame but yourself. Stop being so scared of everything and face your fears! As quoted by Forest Gump “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get”. You’ll never know what the outcome of your situation will be until you actually put forth the effort and try. Those trials and tribulations you may face on your way to greatness are actually motivators to help push yourself to do better. Failure is nothing to be scared of, which is why it’s best to embrace it and face your fear of the unknown.

You’re Too Comfortable

Ok, it’s great that you are satisfied with where you are at in life and all, but now what? Do you plan on staying there your whole life or are we going to keep moving forward? I mean, there’s nothing wrong with being comfortable but why not PUSH yourself to do better? Work to your fullest potential and push it to the limit! Do you want to build an empire or a legacy? If so, keep in mind that you can’t get those things if you get too comfortable. There’s levels to this which include good and then there’s great. Stop settling by just getting by doing the bare minimum! Chase that dream that you are going after and go hard for it. That comfort zone you are currently is what is preventing you from achieving your goals and aspirations.

You Lack Confidence In Yourself

If you say you’re a boss, own up to it! A boss works hard for their hustle and will do what they can to get to the top. Build your confidence up and quit doubting yourself! You can do anything you put your mind to as long as you have the right work ethic and mindset. You have goals to meet and dreams to make happen, but you cannot achieve them if you are constantly doubting your abilities. Stop saying I CAN’T and replace that with I CAN as in YOU CAN do this and NOTHING will get in your way! Get out of your head and stop using I can’t as an excuse. Remember, while you may feel insignificant in this world you are destined for greatness. You may have an abundance of degrees, talent, skills and brains but if you don’t take the time to really put them to use then what are you doing? We are our own worst enemies when it comes to taking chances in life. Constantly doubt yourself and your capabilities will get nothing accomplished.

The dice is in your hands, so take a chance and see where it lands. You’ll won’t know until you roll the “Dice of Life”. Life is full of surprises but the only way they will be revealed to you is if you play the game and take that risk.
