The typical schedule for an adult:
- Wake up
- Go To Work
….and then wake up the next day to do it all over again! Now that’s what I call living it up! That drive to work is an adventure in itself because you get to see all of what your wonderful city offers! From those beautiful trees that you pass by everyday to those dull, gray buildings! Man oh man life is grand but this isn’t the best part though. Fast forwarding to the end of the day, time to go night night! As soon as you close your eyes, you find yourself flying around in a beautiful unknown world. Look at you all happy and smiling thinking your superman! Then all of a sudden you hear a loud, irritating, beeping noise that won’t stop. Oh no! It couldn’t be!…..Oh but it is!…..You wake up to your alarm going off and you’ve snapped back to reality. As you wipe sleep out of your eyes you find yourself making this face….
“Here we go again” is what you find yourself thinking. Back to the same ol’ shit, time to get my day started.
In all seriousness, this is probably why a lot of us are “depressed”. We don’t take time to enjoy life for what it is and are just stuck in the same daily routine. Life is all about taking chances and having fun. If this is how you have been feeling lately, then maybe it’s time for a change. Temperature’s are about to start rising, spring is approaching, and what we are not about to do is sit at home and miss out on life this year. Listed below are tips on what you can do to live your life to the fullest!
Get out and see the world! Whether you go alone, with your friends, or your significant other, travel to places you’ve never been and explore the unknown! What was that annoying phrase that everyone used to say a few years ago? Oh yeah…YOLO! You only live once so why not go out and visit places you’ve never been? The world is too big of a place for you to just stay in the little town you are in. Those pictures you take and destinations that you visit can create pleasant memories to last for a lifetime. Take a chance, live it up and see what all the world has to offer.
Do You “Boo Boo”
Stop caring about what other people think and do your own thang! Do as you wish and stop trying to please others. If you want to wear a tutu to the beach while twerking to “Big Ol’ Freak” this summer, then go ahead and do it! Sure you may get stared at, but guess what…you’re having fun! There’s nothing wrong with letting loose and being care free. What’s fun to you may not be fun to others. At the end of the day we are all INDIVIDUALS…which mean individual style, personality, etc. which is what makes humans so unique. With that being said, go head on with your weird self! Never let anyone’s negativity put you down. Your out there personality is what makes you destined for greatness, so keep on doing you boo boo!
Take this how you want! Whether you want to indulge in food or even your favorite tv show, as long as it brings you joy, then that’s all that matters. Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that can bring you peace and put a smile on your face! Do your little happy dance as you eat that cookie! Laugh till you can’t laugh anymore at that movie that you are watching! Take some time to yourself to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
Put Yourself Out There
Besides maybe social anxiety, what’s really holding you back from putting your self out there? Do you have a dream that you are looking to fulfill? If so, why not take a chance and put yourself out there? Make yourself known to the world and show us what you can do. Whether you are looking to make more friends, trying to land your dream job, or you are seeking to showcase your talent, you can’t expect success with any of these things if you just keep to yourself all the time. Step outside of you comfort zone and show the world what you are about. Let’s make this year about taking chances in life! You never know how far you can go until you put in the effort and try.
Take A Mental Health Day
You’ve been working hard all year and now it is time to reward yourself. After all that hard work you put in, it’s time for a relaxing day off! A self care or mental health day is important because it allows you to reset your mind and get yourself in tune with life again. Take this day to pamper yourself and do things that make you happy. Whether it be retail therapy, getting a massage, or just having a chill day at home, everyone has a different idea on what the perfect day off would be. Do the things in life that put a smile on your face. Keep your mind at ease by putting your work or home life in the back of your mind. This day is all about you, so relax and enjoy it!
